I was wondering if anyone managed to develop the utility yet? and I have netbeans would that be a suitable dev environment to work in?

at 2004 i develope this application for GlobeSoft company, for Symbain OS for Series 60(nokia 6600,3650,..) and UIQ(sony ercsson p800)
using C++ and anthor using j2me(java version is for all mobiles that support java).

As you have worked on the prayer time application before, if you could provide any information or direction that would be very helpful.
There is an Open Source
There is an Open Source Java and C++ library that does all the calculations. It was initially developed by C++ at Arabeyes.org and some guy ported it into Java. A year ago the library was enhanced (its OOP design) at OpenCraft.
I think you may contact OpenCraft and see if they are welling to donate it back to the community.

Development Phase
As-salamu alaykom,
The aim of this project is to implement an accurate prayer time application for symbian S60 mobile phone (e.g. Nokia 6680). The most important aspect of this project is for the phone to connect to a Bluetooth GPS receiver to get user exact location to work out the prayer times. We will be using a Bluetooth GPS receiver to obtain the longitude and latitude to determine the user’s location to calculate the prayer time.

Does anyone know how to write a method to rcommunicate with the GPS device to read the data it prduces (logitude and latitude) then publishes that data so i can read that data to implement it with the algorithm.

Just wondering if anyone has or knows where i can get the Java Islamic Library (JIL). I have tried the source forge and other site but could not find it.
