I have two questions:
(1) Was the logo changes ?
(2) Are there any suggestion to avoid such a long offline time?

I don't think so, nice hint I will work on it when I return home.

yes there are:
first: we should donate for EGJUG as VPS costs a good sum.
second: we need volunteers for issues like upgrade (now EGJUG site is up to date with the latest drupal release).
