Object Database "db4ob", How easy is Database with Java
Object Databases a word is comming up step by step and it seems it's getting great acceptance in the Software field of course due to extreme flexibility and easy of doing database .
Hiberanate introduce this nice idea of storing object and it was greatly successful and now we read that EJB3 took some features of Hibernate to enable extrafeatures taken from Hibernate, and that's better because EJB3 is a standard.
Hibernate, EJB3 all are nice but i am introducing to you today a great step in the Database world, All object-oriented software developers are familiar with the difficulty transitioning from object-oriented thinking to relational persistence. So far, they have been forced to choose between speed and object-orientation: Native SQL access is fast, but laborious, requiring a great deal of additional code. Object-relational mappers offer a convenient bridge, but they seriously degrade performance.
db4o eliminates the OO-versus-performance tradeoff: it allows you to store even the most complex object structures with ease, while achieving highest level of performance. Database benchmarks show db4o to be up to 44x faster than Hibernate and MySQL, a popular object-relational mapper and relational SQL database stack another thing nice to be said db4ob is for .Net users also.

The major reason for using relational databases today is legacy, i.e. retaining old enterprise data and the set of existing applications relying on it. But beyond the server-centric persistence, there are a multitude of device, mobile, and desktop applications for which conventional database technology falls short. Here db4o's technology ensures new levels of performance, functionality, and cost effectiveness.
Some one will stop me who proof to me that this is a good product and will live i will u give the answer now.
db4o has now passed the 250,000 downloads mark. It has been successfully deployed in transportation, networks, natural sciences, industrial, consumer, and enterprise applications and in a myriad of other industries. Users and customers of db4o currently come from 168 different countries, from Albania to Zimbabwe, and range from world class leaders like BMW, Boeing, Bosch, Hertz, and IBM to a wide range of highly innovative start-up companies.
