I need to acces the USB port using JAVA Code

 Dear all,

 I am doing my graduation project and I am writing a program that should send and receive data to a device that is connected to the PC over the USB port. I need the windows API for the USB port and the package concerning this issue as well.

I am not sure whether this is all I need or not, this is the information I understand until now. If anyone knows how to write a program that sends and receives data over the USB port under windows environment (of course and the DLLs needed for it), I would be very greatful for any help.

I have learned that the 2nd edition of the book "Java I/O" by Elliotte Rusty Harold contains a chapter discussing USB communication over Java, but it is nowhere to be found, I have only found the 1st edition and it is of no use when it comes to USB communication.
